The estate
The Rocca di Frassinello estate is the fruit of the partnership between the highly reputed Chianti Classico estate, Castellare di Castellina, and Domaines Barons de Rothschild's Château Lafite. Established in 2007 and designed by the famous Italian architect Renzo Piano, Rocca di Frassinello produces fine Maremma Toscana wines.
The wine
A limited edition bottling, Rocca di Frassinello 2017 Edizione Limitata Tribute to Renzo Piano is a Maremma Toscana wine celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Rocca di Frassinello estate as well as the 40th anniversary of the Beaubourg Museum in Paris, also designed by the illustrious architect Renzo Piano. The emblem of the estate, this wine is the finest expression of this Franco-Italian joint-venture between Castellare di Castellina and Domaines Barons de Rothschild-Lafite.
Vinification and ageing
Aged for 14 months in oak barrels, 80% of which are new, and 11 months in bottle before release.

Sangiovese (60%)
Merlot (20%),

This wine showcases an intense, ruby red colour with garnet highlights.

On the palate, this exceptional "Grand Vin" blends power, intensity and elegance. The silky structure of the tannins enfolds the palate. The wine boasts a pleasant depth, energy and a superb balance.
