Description
A Full and Silky Brunello di Montalcino Wine
The Estate
Located between Montalcino and the Abbey of Sant'Antimo, the Scopone estate enjoys an exceptional environment in the heart of the Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spanning 12 hectares, the vineyard benefits from a privileged microclimate, an exposure facing Mount Amiata, and soils composed of galestro and alberese, which enhance the noblest expression of the Sangiovese.
Vinification and Aging
The harvest is carried out by hand, with a double selection of berries: first in the vineyard, then on the sorting table after destemming. Fermentation takes place in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks for about ten days, followed by a two-week maceration. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for at least 24 months in 25-hectolitre French oak barrels and 65-hectolitre Slavonian oak barrels. The aging of this Tuscan wine continues in the bottle at a controlled temperature from the third year onwards.
Grape Variety
This 2019 Brunello di Montalcino from Scopone is 100% Sangiovese.
