Description
The balance and richness of a Tuscan red wine
The estate
From its name evoking the Roman god Janus to the history it has shared over the centuries with numerous noble families, the Argiano estate has passed through the ages with gusto, winning over the hearts of the world's greatest wine lovers. Today, Bernardino Sani oversees this precious vineyard, planted mainly with Sangiovese but also with typical Bordeaux varieties, and pays great attention to the mosaic of terroirs that make up Argiano. To ensure that the vines are listened to and respected, organic and regenerative farming is practised and the wines are vinified in the most natural way possible.
The vineyard
A benchmark among Tuscan wines, Rosso di Montalcino 2019 from Argiano comes from a vineyard spread across 120 hectares of cultivated land at an altitude of between 280 and 300 metres. The Argiano vineyard enjoys an ideal geographical location and terroir. The limestone and marl soil, combined with a temperate climate with significant temperature differences between day and night, produces wines of remarkable complexity and finesse. At Argiano, respect for this land and its heritage is paramount.
Winemaking and ageing
