Description
The delicacy and aromatic finesse of a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé
The property
With origins dating back to 1647 following its acquisition by the Capdemourlin family, Château Cap de Mourlin is one of the oldest estates in the Saint-Émilion appellation. This family property wrote a new page in its history in 1983 through infrastructure renovation work which enhanced the quality of the wines from this exceptional terroir.
The vineyard
Located on the northern slopes of Saint-Émilion, the Château Cap de Mourlin vineyard covers 14 hectares, on a clay-limestone and clay-siliceous terroir. The vineyards are planted mainly with Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Vinification and ageing
Vinification in stainless steel tanks with external thermoregulation. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in barrels, as is the ageing for 15 to 18 months (50% new barrels, 50% second-fill barrels).
The blend
The Château Cap de Mourlin 2020 is made from a blend of Merlot (65%), Cabernet Franc (25%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%).
