Description
The singularity of a Loire white wine made from botrytized Chenin Blanc and vinified as a dry white
The estate
Founded between the years 800 and 1000 by Benedictine monks, the vineyard estate of Château de Fosse-Sèche was for several centuries owned by the Church. Passionate about wine and ecology, Guillaume Pire settled at the estate in 1998, with the ambition of crafting distinctive Loire wines that authentically express their native terroirs. Guillaume was joined in 2010 by his twin brother, Adrien.
Château de Fosse-Sèche watches over a 15-hectare vineyard with distinctive geology, farmed organically and biodynamically. Made up of flint stones and iron oxide, these soils also benefit from a cool, windy exposure. Together with their wives, Guillaume and Adrien Pire are deeply committed to an environmentally respectful approach. Thus, one third of the land area is devoted to vine growing and the remaining two thirds to preserving biodiversity and nature. In this way, 30 hectares are entirely dedicated to the development of ecosystems.
Château de Fosse-Sèche is recognized for its Loire wines with a unique personality, harmoniously combining precision, purity and power.
