Château de Fosse-Sèche : Arcane 2023

A generous and full-bodied white wine from the Loire Valley

The estate

Established between the 9th and 11th centuries by Benedictine monks, the vineyard of the Château de Fosse-Sèche was long an ecclesiastical property. In 1998, Guillaume Pire, driven by a passion for wine and a strong ecological conscience, took over the reins of the estate with the desire to create unique Loire wines, faithfully reflecting the richness of their terroir. In 2010, he was joined by his twin brother Adrien, who shares the same vision.

The vineyard

The estate extends over 15 hectares of vines cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods, on a rare soil composed of flint and iron oxide. This terroir benefits from a cool and windy climate, conducive to the production of great Loire wines. Alongside their wives, Guillaume and Adrien Pire are fully committed to a strong environmental approach: a third of the land is reserved for the vineyard, while the remaining two-thirds are dedicated to preserving biodiversity.
