Château Grand Corbin-Despagne 2016: a smooth and generous Saint-Émilion Grand Cru
The Château Grand Corbin-Despagne is a Grand Cru Classé from the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation with a vineyard of 28.79 hectares. The vines have an average age of 39-years-old and grow in sandy-clay soil on iron oxide and ancient clay sand. The wine is aged in barrels (50% in new, 40% in one-year-old barrels and 10% in two-year-old barrels). The Château Grand Corbin-Despagne 2016 blend is composed of 75% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Château Grand Corbin-Despagne 2016 offers a nose rich in fruit. On the palate, the wine shows smoothness and generosity. This Château Grand Corbin-Despagne 2016 is quite fleshy with tannins that persistently remain on the palate.
