Description
A structured and refined Pomerol wine
The estate
Born from the union of plots of Clos L’Église and Château Clinet, Château L’Église-Clinet was founded in 1882 under the impetus of Monsieur Mauléon-Rouchut, ancestor of Denis Durantou. Situated in the heart of the Pomerol appellation, this emblematic Right Bank estate adopted its current name in 1955. It is today recognized as one of the appellation’s most exclusive and sought-after crus.
The vineyard
The vines, planted on deep clay soils mixed with gravel, benefit from an exceptional terroir in the heart of the Pomerol plateau. This unique geological setting imparts richness, finesse and depth to the wine.
Winemaking and aging
Hand harvesting took place from September 10 to 14. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels, 82% of which are new, to preserve the intensity of the fruit while imparting a beautiful oaky complexity.
Blend
The blend of Château L'Eglise Clinet 2024 comprises Merlot (90%) and Cabernet Franc (10%).
