Description
The smoothness and aromatic expression of a Saint-Emilion wine
The estate
With a collection of archives that confirm the estate’s existence in 1585, Château Larmande is one of the oldest estates in Saint-Émilion, on the right bank of Bordeaux. This Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé is owned by the AG2R LA MONDIALE Group.
The vineyard
Producing fine Saint-Emilion wines, the 2019 Château Larmande stems from a 16.67-hectare vineyard. The vines, 28 years old on average, are planted on clay-limestone soil made up of old sands, clay and silica.
Vinification and ageing
The hand-picked grapes are rigorously sorted before being fed by gravity into temperature-controlled parallelepipedic tank. The wine is aged for 18 months, 60% in new barrels, 30% in first-fill barrels and 10% in amphorae.
The blend
Merlot (64%)
Cabernet Franc (33%)
Cabernet Sauvignon (3%).
