Description
An elegant and ample Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé
The estate
With archives testifying to its existence as early as 1585, Château Larmande is one of the oldest estates in Saint-Émilion, on the right bank of Bordeaux. This Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé is owned by the AG2R LA MONDIALE Group.
The vineyard
Located in Saint-Émilion, Château Larmande watches over a 20-hectare single-block vineyard. The vines, which are on average 25 years old, are planted on clay-limestone soil made up of ancient sands, clay and silica. The estate is keen to work its vines as closely as possible to nature in order to best preserve the surrounding biodiversity.
Vinification and ageing
The harvest took place from September 24th to October 7th. The wine is aged 40% in new barrels, 40% in second-fill barrels, 15% in amphorae and 5% in vats.
The blend
Merlot (91%)
Cabernet Franc (7%)
Cabernet Sauvignon (2%).
