Description
An aromatic and delicate Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion
The property
With archives testifying to its existence from 1585 onwards, Château Larmande is one of the oldest properties in Saint-Émilion, on the right bank of Bordeaux. This Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé is owned by the AG2R LA MONDIALE Group.
The vineyard
Château Larmande reigns over a 16.72-hectare vineyard whose vines, 25 years old on average, are planted in clay-limestone soils made up of ancient sand, clay and silica.
Vinification and ageing
Harvested manually, the grapes were rigorously sorted before being transferred by gravity into thermoregulated parallelepiped tanks. Over an 18-month period, 60% of the ageing was carried out in new oak barrels, 30% in second-fill barrels and 10% in amphorae.
The blend
The Château Larmande 2020 was made from a blend of Merlot (77%), Cabernet Franc (19%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (4%).
