Classified 1st Growth Class B from Saint-Emilion. The vineyard of 7.15 hectares planted on clay-limestone soil. On average, the plants are 30 years old. Wine from Chateau Valandraud is aged in new barrels for 24-36 barrels. The 2016 vintage is a blend of 90% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Chateau Valandraud 2016 has a bouquet with mineral aspects, due to the clay and limestone soil on the property. The wine is tasty, and has fantastic, fleshy tannins. Chateau Valandraud has a candied finish. This wine will reach its peak potential in a few years.
