An elegant Rhône-style blend from Paso Robles by Clos Solène
The Estate
Founded in 2007 by Guillaume and Solène Fabre, Clos Solène is a family-owned estate based in Paso Robles, California. Guillaume, from a line of six generations of winemakers in Languedoc-Roussillon, chose to settle in the Willow Creek area after a formative experience in California. In 2017, the couple acquired the Pipestone vineyard, marking a decisive step toward estate production. Today, Guillaume and Solène Fabre run this estate, renowned for its Rhône-inspired wines crafted according to sustainable farming principles and traditional French methods adapted to the Californian terroir.
The Vineyard
The vineyard from which the Harmonie 2016 originates is located in the Paso Robles appellation, more specifically in the Willow Creek area. This zone benefits from predominantly schist soils, which give the wines distinctive minerality and very fine tannins. In the afternoon, cooling breezes temper the heat, allowing for extended ripening of the grapes while preserving freshness and aromatic complexity.
The Vintage
The 2016 vintage yielded grapes at optimal ripeness, expressing a remarkable balance between aromatic concentration and preserved freshness.
Winemaking and Aging
The winemaking of the Harmonie 2016 follows an artisanal approach that respects French traditions. Fermentations take place mainly in large wooden casks, allowing for extended maceration and controlled extraction. The juice ferments completely before pressing, encouraging the development of structure and aromatic depth. Careful aging in French oak barrels contributes to the harmonious integration of the wine’s components while preserving the fruit expression and the characteristic freshness of this cuvée.
