The modernist elegance of a great Piedmont wine
The estate
Founded in 1982 by Guido Fantino and Claudio Conterno, the Conterno Fantino estate has established itself as an emblematic figure in the heart of the Piedmont region of Italy. A pioneer of the modernist approach in the area, the estate stands out for its early environmental commitment and sustainable facilities. Today, the second generation runs the estate, passionately carrying on the work in the vineyards.
The vineyard
Concentrated exclusively in the commune of Monforte d'Alba, the vineyard that gives rise to this Barolo lies on the prestigious Ginestra cru. The specific Vigna del Gris plot enjoys an ideal exposure. Its soils, composed of a complex blend of sand, silt and clay, are home to carefully tended vines. The entire estate promotes biodiversity and controlled yields to ensure optimal grape quality.
Vinification and ageing
After hand harvesting and rigorous sorting, the grapes for the Barolo Ginestra "Vigna del Gris" 2022 undergo meticulous vinification. Ageing takes place in oak barrels, allowing the wine to refine its structure and develop its aromatic complexity before bottling.
