Description
An ample, powerful and full-bodied white wine from Chassagne-Montrachet Village
The Chassagne-Montrachet Village "Vieilles Vignes" of Domaine Bader-Mimeur consists of a blend of Chardonnay from four parcels near Grands Crus of the appellation of Chassagne-Montrachet. These vines are quite old - 30 years on average - and planted on clay-limestone soils. The wine is matured in French oak barrels only (20% in new barrels) for 12 months and is stirred regularly.
At the time of tasting, the Chassagne-Montrachet Village "Vieilles Vignes" 2013 of Domaine Bader-Mimeur reveals a sublime bouquet of citrus fruits on the nose, along with subtle and fresh mint notes. The palate is typical of Chardonnay - ample, powerful, and well-rounded thanks to the barrel-ageing. The wine will reach its peak around 2020-2022 and should be consumed by 2024-2026.
