A structured and elegant white wine from Burgundy
The Estate
Nestled in the heart of Meursault, on the Côte de Beaune, the Domaine du Château de Meursault is one of the emblematic estates of Burgundy viticulture. Boasting over a thousand years of history, this medieval château, now owned by the Halley family, embodies a tradition of prestige and excellence in the creation of terroir-driven White wines and Red wines. The estate stands out for its rigorous approach in the vineyard and the cellar, with a strong commitment to sustainable and high-quality viticulture.
The Vineyard
From the climat classified as Premier Cru "Champ Canet", this wine comes from a 58-are parcel located on the heights of Puligny-Montrachet. The vines, facing east, draw their character from stony clay-limestone soils, conducive to the optimal ripening of Chardonnay. This location offers ideal conditions for producing wines of great finesse.
Winemaking and Aging
The grapes are hand-harvested and then carefully sorted. After pressing and settling, the alcoholic fermentation takes place in barrels for about fifteen days. Aging in oak barrels for 15 to 18 months imparts complexity and depth to the wine.
Grape Variety
100% Chardonnay.
