Domaine Marcel Deiss : Grasberg 2021

The 2021 Grasberg is a blend of Riesling and Gewurztraminer from an elevated, late-ripening site of iron-rich Jurassic limestone on top of the Altenberg Grand Cru, sloping slightly north at 350 meters. A touch of tropical fruit teases with aromatic mango highlights. The palate is rounded, smooth and chock-full of fruit; mango appears again amidst the juiciest yellow peach and passion fruit. This is rich, rounded and incredibly juicy, but all tapering to a strait-laced, slightly phenolic finish that marshals this panoply of exuberant fruit into total clarity. The 40 g/L of sugar makes this into a hedonistic experience of fruit. (Off-Dry)
