The estate

Established in the Loire Valley, Domaine Philippe Alliet was officially founded in 1985, although family management began back in 1983. Today, Philippe Alliet, his wife Claude, and their son Pierre run this 17- to 18-hectare estate. Recognized with two stars by La Revue du Vin de France, the estate stands out for its ambition to elevate its cuvées to the level of the greatest crus. Fully certified organic, Domaine Philippe Alliet is distinguished by meticulous soil work and a constant pursuit of excellence.

The vineyard

Located in the commune of Chinon, the vineyard devoted to this exclusive cuvée represents a tiny 0.15-hectare plot planted in 2005. This terroir benefits from a favorable slope and an ideal exposure. All the vines are cultivated according to organic farming principles, with regular tilling to encourage soil life. Harvesting is done entirely by hand, allowing for a rigorous selection of bunches directly on the vine to ensure optimal ripeness.

The vintage

2023 stood out for weather conditions that departed from the cool climate typically observed in the region. This season saw unusual temperatures, offering a novel and experimental expression for this vintage.

Winemaking and aging

The grapes ferment through the action of indigenous yeasts. Aging takes place in concrete vats, a deliberate choice of neutral vessels that allows the wine to mature slowly without any woody influence, thereby preserving the full purity of the fruit.
