Description
Characteristics and tasting notes of the "Petit Chemarin" 2023 from Domaine Vincent Pinard
Tasting
Colour
The wine reveals a brilliant pale gold colour with shimmering highlights.
Nose
Remarkably complex, the nose reveals aromas of fresh citrus, lemon oil and crisp green apple. On aeration, delicate notes of white flowers and stone fruit intertwine with subtle mineral touches of wet stone.
Palate
The palate is seductive with its supple, melting texture, offering delicious notes of peach balanced by a chalky minerality. Carried by a lovely acidity, this white wine stands out for its tension and precision, extending into a persistent, saline finish.
Food and wine pairing
This wine pairs wonderfully with seafood such as grilled oysters or pan-seared scallops. It also enhances delicate fish, dishes based on green vegetables like asparagus, as well as aged goat cheeses.
Service and storage
For optimal enjoyment, this vintage should be served at a temperature between 10 and 11°C. With its lovely structure, this wine can be enjoyed now or cellared until around 2033.

The estate
Officially established in 1996, Domaine Vincent Pinard is part of a long family tradition that began in 1789 in France. Located in Bué, at the heart of the wine region, this 17-hectare estate is now run by Florent and Clément Pinard. Representing the twentieth generation, the two brothers have elevated the domaine among the essential references of the appellation. Deeply committed to respecting their terroir, they favor a low-intervention approach and apply biodynamic principles to craft wines of remarkable precision.
The vineyard
The "Petit Chemarin" cuvée comes from a distinctive plot within the Sancerre appellation, planted in 1968. Rising to between 250 and 260 meters in altitude, this terroir benefits from a southeast to south-southeast exposure, providing a particularly cool microclimate. The vines thrive on caillottes soils, composed of Oxfordian limestone and Kimmeridgian marl, giving the wine its unique mineral identity. Planting density is high, encouraging natural concentration in the berries.
The vintage
The year 2023 was marked by particularly generous natural yields and a balanced season, with neither water stress nor excessive heat. To ensure optimal quality, significant green harvesting was carried out, allowing the remaining bunches to reach perfect ripeness.
Winemaking and aging
Following manual harvesting and rigorous sorting, the grapes undergo gentle whole-bunch pneumatic pressing. Fermentation begins naturally through indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged for twelve months in 600-liter demi-muids, mostly made of old wood, to preserve the purity of the fruit. Bottling takes place without fining or filtration.
