A white Crozes-Hermitage combining freshness and elegance
The estate
Officially founded in 1946 by Étienne Guigal in Ampuis, the E. Guigal House is a true institution of the Rhône Valley. Today, the estate remains in the hands of the founding family, with Marcel Guigal as owner and his son Philippe as general and technical director. The estate extends over approximately 62 hectares of vines spread across prestigious terroirs. Renowned worldwide, this iconic brand stands out for its exceptional expertise, combining a rigorous négociant activity with viticulture of excellence to produce wines of remarkable qualitative consistency.
The vineyard
The vines used to produce this white Crozes-Hermitage thrive on clay-loam and sandy-gravel soils. Averaging around 25 years old, these plots are cultivated with great care to achieve a controlled yield of 37 hl/ha.
Winemaking and aging
The making of this 2024 Crozes-Hermitage begins with vinification carried out at low temperature, maintained around 18 °C. The wine then benefits from 9 months of aging. This stage takes place mainly in stainless steel tanks, while a small proportion of the cuvée is aged in wood.
Grape varieties
This white wine comes from a blend of 95% Marsanne and 5% Roussanne.
