Description
The estate
Arnaud, Lionel and Jean-Christophe Bourgeois are the third generation to be at the helm of the family estate which was created in 1950 by Henri Bourgeois. Comprising a surface area of 72 hectares, the Famille Bourgeois vineyard spreads over a mosaic of soils made up of clay-limestone, Kimmeridgian marl and flint, which contribute to the signature style of each of these Loire wines.
Due to the passion and rigour lent to the vineyard management and the parcel-based vinification, a practice that they pioneered, Famille Bourgeois produce wines that are renowned for their quality, their finesse and their pure expression of each of these fine terroirs of origin.
The vineyard
This 2016 Les Côtes aux Valets by Famille Bourgeois is a Sancerre wine that stems from a 1.06-hectare plot in the south of the appellation. Planted in 1986, the vines are planted on a soil composed mainly of limestone clay.

Racking then ageing in vats on fine lees until Christmas, followed by 7 months of additional ageing in bottles before being put on the market.
