Description
The estate
Committed to practicing traditional viticultural methods that respect the terroir and the environment, the Perrin family has become an essential reference among fine Rhône Valley wines over the years.
A pioneer in the innovative organic farming approach since 1950 followed by biodynamic practices in 1974, Famille Perrin produces fine wines, recognised beyond the French borders, for their quality and sophistication.
The wine
Peyre Blanche 2019 by Famille Perrin is a Côtes du Rhône Villages Cairanne wine made from a 14-hectare vineyard that rests on clay and gravel terraces.
The vintage
Starting early, the budburst recorded at the beginning of April preceded a gradual and even flowering period. The particularly hot summer at the end of June had little impact on the vineyard, thanks to the rigorous attention paid by the estate's teams. The grapes are harvested at a usual time and boast a high quality.
Vinification and ageing
Following the manual harvest, the grapes are sorted, destemmed and vatted. Fermentation for about 15 days with pumping over or punching down. De-vatting and ageing in truncated wooden and stainless steel vats.
The blend
Grenache (60%)
Syrah (40%).
