Andreas Larsson

Very opaque and dense colour. Very complex and intense nose, high ripeness and layers of blackberry, cassis, apricot, flowers, meat, spices and bacon. The palate has a very high level of concentration with massive tannins and dense vibrant fruit; it still holds together without rough edges or hardness. However, it’s a very opulent and rich style with a very long, lingering finish—very good but not for the faint-hearted.

Bettane+Desseauve

La forge 2009 is constrained by this warm vintage. We like the airy tannin quality, in the spirit of the cuvée. The finish lacks its usual elegance. We are waiting for 2010.
