At the heart of the Terrasses du Larzac, Mas Cal Demoura is a pioneering estate in the renaissance of Languedoc wines. Founded in the 1990s, the estate looks after an exceptional terroir around Joncquières. Since 2004, Isabelle and Vincent Goumard have been working to bring out the best in this terroir.
The Mas Cal Demoura vineyard covers almost 16 hectares. With Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Grenache, Roussanne, Viognier and more, the 11 grape varieties grown here are planted in the terroir that best suits them.
Mas Cal Demoura is farmed organically and has been on the road to biodynamic conversion for the last 5 years, using an approach tailored to each plot and developing habitats for auxiliary fauna, thereby enhancing biodiversity. The grapes are harvested by hand and sorted in the vineyard to ensure that only the best grapes are kept.
In the winery, when the grapes are brought in, the greatest potential is already in the hands of the winemakers. The key now is to accompany the vinification process as traditionally and naturally as possible, with the aim of revealing the terroir at its very best.
Mas Cal Demoura produces multi-varietal cuvées with a slender, fruity air. The precise balance of these cuvées is a true demonstration of the work and passion of Isabelle & Vincent Goumard in making these exceptional Languedoc wines.
