La Fugue de Nénin 2009

The Fugue de Nenin is a delicious, soft, finesse-styled Pomerol with elegant mulberry, plum, and cherry fruit. Dark ruby, with a hint of spring flowers, it is best drunk over the next decade.

This straddles the line nicely between ripe raspberry and steeped cherry fruit versus savory herb and tobacco flavors, with fine-beaded acidity holding the gentle finish together. Drink now through 2020. 5,415 cases made.

Lots of blackberries, with dark chocolate on the nose. Full-bodied with soft, velvety tannins and a delicious finish. The second wine of Nenin. Better in 2014.

Very deep crimson. Very rich, voluptuous nose. Nice freshness and precision on the palate. Very luscious. A lot more successful than many grown-up Pomerol grands vins. Really zesty and plush and lovely. GV (JR)

Supple, rounded palate with lovely sweetness and a touch of extra freshness.

Beautiful, vibrant color. The nose is still a bit too animal, but on the palate this vintage offers roundness, juiciness, and a lovely finish reminiscent of Cabernet Franc (19%).
