An aromatic and refined Lalande de Pomerol wine

The producer

Château La Fleur de Boüard's Second Vin, Le Plus de La Fleur de Boüard reveals the aromatic expression of the beautiful Lalande de Pomerol terroir, an appellation located on the right bank of the Bordeaux wine region.

The vineyard

The Château La Fleur de Boüard vineyard covers 29.5 hectares. The Plus de La Fleur de Boüard 2020 is made from a selection of 60-year-old vines which are planted on a gravelly hillside containing 15 to 20% clay.

The vinification and ageing

Pre-fermentation maceration at 8 to 10°C. Alcoholic fermentation and maceration for 4 to 6 weeks. The vinification is carried out in inverted truncated wooden vats and in barrels. Malolactic fermentationis carried out in barrels. Aged for 33 months in French oak barrels (100% new barrels). The wine is neither fined nor filtered.

Château La Fleur de Boüard 2015 is a 100% Merlot.

The tasting

Colour

A beautiful inky colour with blue highlights.

Nose

An intense expression, with a concentration of spices (pepper, 4 bays, saffron) evolving into a fleshy and fragrant black fig. When stirred, the wine reveals depth and aromatic amplitude as well as notes of burlat cherry and cedar of Lebanon, conveying a very fresh touch.

Palate

The palate has a straight entry and the acidity gives the wine a dynamic sapidity. Remarkable for its freshness and aromatic richness, this Lalande de Pomerol wine seduces with its precision, volume, balance, power and elegance. The finish is fruity and persistent.

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Le Plus de la Fleur de Bouard opens with gorgeous crushed black plums, cassis and blackberry pie with touches of baking spices and lavender plus menthol hints. The full-bodied mouth is rich and concentrated with some cedar notes, very spicy, plush and voluptuous with a long finish.
