A Premier Cru white from Burgundy combining richness and finesse

The Estate

Founded in 1797 by Jean Latour in Aloxe-Corton, this family-owned Burgundian house perpetuates a unique heritage combining cooperage and winemaking. Owner of 33 hectares including Corton Grands Crus, Louis Latour stands out thanks to its dual expertise inherited from its origins as a cooper. A pioneer in exports as early as 1815 and former supplier to European royal courts, the house remains a key reference for Burgundy wines since its establishment on rue des Tonnelliers in Beaune in 1867.

The Vineyard

The climat Morgeot is one of the most renowned Premier Crus of Chassagne-Montrachet, located on the Côte de Beaune. The Chardonnay vines, averaging 30 years of age, thrive on soils composed of clay and chalk. This particular geology gives the wine its characteristic minerality and aromatic complexity. The controlled yield of 40 hl/ha and manual harvesting ensure optimal grape quality.

Winemaking and Aging

Winemaking follows a traditional approach with fermentation in oak barrels and full malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place over 8 to 10 months in medium-toast French oak barrels, 50% of which are new wood, sourced from the Louis Latour cooperage. This method allows the development of aromatic complexity while preserving the expression of the terroir.

Grape Variety

100% Chardonnay, the emblematic grape variety of Burgundy's great White wines.
