A delicious and aromatic rosé wine from Côtes de Provence by Miraval
Home to notable personages since Antiquity, Château Miraval has seen Thomas Aquinas, the Prince of Naples and also Jacques Loussier live within its pastel pink walls. In 1970, this famous French jazz pianist revolutionised the Château Miraval: he had a recording studio installed where all the greatest rock legends were invited. In 2008, this magical place captured the hearts of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt who decided to buy the estate. They undertook modernisation work and succeeded in bringing Château Miraval to the heights of excellence of the greatest rosé wines of Provence.
Positioned in the heart of the Var, the prestigious Château Miraval benefits from an exceptional terroir in the commune of Correns, the first organic village in France. This Côtes de Provence wine is made from the best terroirs of the estate as well as a selection of grapes and wines from vineyards located mainly in the northern part of Provence. The location of the vineyard at an altitude of about 350 metres on clay-limestone soils gives this Miraval Rosé 2022 a subtle combination of acidity and minerality. This is combined with a cool climate that has significant temperature variations between day and night ; ideal conditions for refining the ripeness and ensuring perfect balance.
Winemaking and ageing
Mostly harvested early in the morning, the grapes are carefully sorted before being destemmed. The Cinsault, Grenache and Rolle grapes are pressed directly, while the Syrah is vinified by bleeding. 95% of the wine is vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and 5% in barrels with stirring.
Characteristics and tasting tips for Miraval 2022
La robe est d’une séduisante couleur rose pâle. The colour is of an alluring pale pink.
The aromatic bouquet reveals delicate scents of fresh fruit, of redcurrants and roses freshly cut, supported by fine touches of finger lime zest.
The palate has a full and delicious texture which balances perfectly with the natural acidity and minerality of this wine. Its saline and limestone expression stretches out to a lovely, lasting finish.
For the best tasting, serve between 8 and 10°C.
