Appearance

Nose

Palate
On the palate, this red wine proves juicy, remarkably precise and brimming with freshness. Its texture is at once smooth, round and harmonious, offering a vibrant expression that reflects the energy of its schist terroir.

Food and wine pairings
This cuvée will pair wonderfully with flavourful meats such as roast pigeon, a grilled veal chop or oven-baked milk-fed lamb. It will also enhance a mushroom risotto or a traditional pot-au-feu.

Serving and cellaring
To fully enjoy the Terra de Cuques Negre 2022, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 15 and 17 °C. Endowed with fine ageing potential, it can be enjoyed until around 2032.

A vibrant Priorat wine, true to the identity of Terroir Al Limit

The estate
Founded in 2001 by Eben Sadie, Dominik Huber and Jaume Sabaté, the Terroir Al Limit estate is nestled near the village of Torroja, in the heart of the Priorat appellation, located in the magnificent region of Catalonia. Now led by Dominik Huber, this estate stands out for its commitment to producing wines that reflect the purity of their origin. Artisanal, hand-crafted work and biodynamic viticulture are the cornerstones of this renowned brand. The estate distinguishes itself through its high-altitude vineyards and its low-intervention approach, offering an authentic and elegant interpretation of the Catalan landscapes.

The vineyard
The vines giving rise to this Priorat cuvée are between 25 and 40 years old and flourish at an altitude of 400 metres. This exceptional Priorat terroir is composed of clay and schist soils, locally known as llicorella. The vineyard, planted on steep terraces, is cultivated according to biodynamic principles, with entirely manual and artisanal care to preserve the natural balance and vitality of the vines.

Winemaking and ageing
The making of the Terra de Cuques Negre 2022 relies on gentle methods that respect the raw material. The grapes undergo a whole-cluster maceration, accompanied by slow fermentations and delicate extractions. The wine then benefits from 8 months of ageing in concrete tanks, a choice that helps preserve the freshness, minerality and brightness of the fruit.

The blend of this Spanish wine is composed of 50% Grenache and 50% Carignan.
