The story began in 1984 when a couple of wine lovers bought an estate that was initially meant to be a living space close to nature, but which quickly became a winegrowing estate. And so, Tua Rita was born. Over the years and as Tua Rita wines became increasingly recognised, the estate grew from two hectares to nine, then 20, then to around 30 hectares today. Tua Rita has now become an essential reference for Tuscan wines, a major wine region in Italy.
The Tua Rita estate covers nearly 30 hectares in the winegrowing area of Upper Maremma (IGT), on the Val di Cornia, perfectly located between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Metalliferous Hills of Tuscany.
Produced since 1994, Redigaffi by Tua Rita is produced from a vineyard planted on a terroir which mineral content gives the wine a rich aromatic palette mixed with a delicious salinity.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes are manually harvested in 15kg boxes. Ageing lasts for 18 to 20 months in new French oak barrels. Following bottling, an additional ageing is carried out for several months before the wine is put on the market.
