A delicate, round Champagne with enveloping, approachable complexity. A beautiful nose with delicate citrus notes, subtle nuttiness and delicious salinity. Flavours of yellow apple, pear, salted almonds and dried apricots sit comfortably on the palate. A honeyed edge to the medium finish.

Very red apple on the nose and front palate, this is an extremely crisp and straight Champagne that’s very refreshing at the self-confidently dry finish. A cuvee of 40% pinot noir, 35% chardonnay and 25% pinot meunier with 40% of reserve wines from prior vintages. Disgorged in December 2022. Drink now.

Dry and chewy, with ripe orchard and pit fruit flavors that show a hint of warmth. Closes on a bitter pear skin note, with good grip and decent persistence.

Medium yellow-green with silver reflections and a lively mousse. A floral bouquet, with white apple, hints of lime and a mineral touch. Medium complexity on the palate with a delicate core of peach fruit, hints of blossom honey and harmonious acidity. Overall, it's fruity and persistent. (Disgorged 05/23, PM).

The NV Champagne Reserve Brut reveals a bright yellow hue and offers a bit of mustiness on the nose, with aromas of parmesan, grapefruit pith, bread dough, and yellow plum. A blend of 55% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, and the rest Meunier, it’s rounded on the palate, with a frothy mousse and a straightforward and lightly spicy finish. It is prime for drinking over the near term. Disgorged in August 2021.

Description

A Brut Réserve champagne with a seductive freshness and aromatic complexity

The producer

Since its creation in 1834, the Boizel Champagne House has been renowned for its refined champagnes, stemming from the finest Champagne vineyards. Although the house reigns over its own vineyard of around 7 hectares, it also sources its grapes from partner winegrowers.

Florent and Lionel Roques-Boizel represent the sixth generation at the head of the family business.

The wine

The Brut Réserve by Boizel is made from around thirty different Champagne vintages and is aged for three years on its lees. The dosage is 8 g/litre.

Vinification and ageing

This champagne is made exclusively from the first press. 30% of reserve wines, kept in vats since the two previous harvests, complete the clear juices of the current year.

The tasting

Colour

The brilliant colour reveals a delicate straw gold. The effervescence harmoniously blends vivacity and finesse.

Nose

The fresh and expressive nose progressively exudes floral (white flowers, hawthorn) and fruity (white peach, apricot) fragrances along with elegant notes of citrus and pastries.

Palate

The palate is seduced by this wine’s freshness, suppleness and balance. Throughout the tasting experience, the palate reveals concentrated aromas of candied pear and acacia honey and leads to a long and rich finish.
