Description
The estate
In the shadows of its 3 kilometres of underground galleries of Gallo-Roman origin, the high-quality Joseph Perrier Champagne House perpetuates a know-how and a respect for tradition which has been transmitted from generation to generation. Each plot is vinified separately so that the identity of each of the Champagne terroirs can be expressed, with bespoke ageing processes.
The wine
The Cuvée Royale Brut Vintage 2012 by Joseph Perrier is made from the greatest terroirs of Premier and Grand Crus (including Ambonnay, Mailly, Serzy, Cumières, Chouilly, Bergères-lès-Vertus).
Blend
The exceptional champagne is made from a blend of Pinot Noir (54%) and Chardonnay (46%).
Tasting
Colour
The wine is a bright and beautiful golden colour.
Nose
The nose mixes and gradually unveils notes of pastry and brioche, as well as spicy and peppery fragrances.
Palate
The smooth attack is elevated by a fine and elegant acidity. Complex and balanced, the palate seduces with its aromas of chamomile, dried fruits (apricots, dates) as well as its mineral and refined persistence.
Pairings
This Cuvée Royale Brut Vintage 2012 by Joseph Perrier goes perfectly with a Saint-Jacques carpaccio with vanilla oil and Bourbon pepper, pan-seared duck foie gras or a camembert made from raw milk.
Serving
For optimal tasting, refresh this champagne in an ice bucket for twenty minutes before serving it between 8 and 10°C.
