The producer
Founded over 120 years ago, the Lancelot Pienne Champagne House has been producing, from generation to generation, vintages that authentically express the richness and refinement of the Champagne terroir. With a wealth of experience in different houses, Jean-Baptiste Lancelot, a passionate winegrower, decided at the end of the Second World War to produce his own wines. A few years later, one of his sons married Brigitte Pienne and the house of Lancelot Pienne was born. Carrying out a perpetual quest for authenticity and excellence, Lancelot Pienne is a family-run, independent house that is renowned for the precision and richness of its champagnes, which are regarded as "vins d'auteur".
The vineyard
Historically established in the heart of the Champagne region, near Cramant, Lancelot Pienne reigns over an 8.30-hectare vineyard that spreads over the terroirs of the Côte des Blancs and the Marne Valley.
Vinification and ageing
This wine is vinified in small temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out at a temperature of 18-20°C. 100% malolactic fermentation. Blend of 70% of the 2016 harvest and 30% of 18-year-old reserve wines. This champagne is aged for 18 months in the chalky cellars of the family house. Disgorgement is carried out 9 months before being released and the dosage is 7 g/litre.
The blend
Lancelot Pienne's Cuvée Rosé Délice is made with a Cuvée Tradition base, a blend of Pinot Meunier (70%), Chardonnay (15%) and Pinot Noir (15%), to which 10% of red wine is added from the Pinot Noir of Bouzy.
The tasting
This Rosé Délice by Lancelot Pienne seduces with its salmon colour, its freshness, its aerial style as well as its notes of fresh spring fruits (redcurrant, blackcurrant).
