Description
The refinement and complexity of an emblematic Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion
The Estate
Founded in 1882, the Château Laroze is a Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion. Located 1.5 km northwest of the village, this single-block vineyard, owned since its origins by the Gurchy-Meslin family, winegrowers since 1610, benefits from a clay-limestone terroir at the foot of the slope.
The vineyard
The 27-hectare vineyard extends in one piece over an exceptional terroir in Saint-Émilion. The estate is subject to optimal parcel management and a coherent expression of the terroir.
Winemaking and aging
Hand-harvested grapes. Winemaking in stainless steel and cement vats. Aged in new barrels (65%) as well as in jars and vats.
Blend
Château Laroze stands out for its blend of Merlot (62%), Cabernet Franc (28%), Cabernet Sauvignon (8%), Petit Verdot (3%) and Malbec (0.8%).
