Château Troplong Mondot 2017

Bordeaux - Saint-Emilion - Red Château Troplong Mondot Château Troplong Mondot 2017 1218/17
  • Parker : 95-97
  • J. Robinson : 16,5
Dominating the St Emilion village, Troplong Mondot and its 33 hectares is one of the " big " estates of the region. Endowed with a fabulous terroir, the quality of the wines has steadily improved since the arrival of Christine Valette-Pariente in 1980. Her husband joined her a few years later and started the restructuration of the facilities and the vineyard in a respectful approach of the environment. Their efforts led the estate to the rank of 1er Grand Cru Classé of St Emilion in 2006. The wines, profound, concentrated, are a perfect union between the elegance and the power of the terroir.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Troplong Mondot saw hardly any frostùless than 10%. The 2017 Troplong Mondot is blended of 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc. Very deep purple-black in color, it offers up a cedar chest, cinnamon stick and cloves-laced nose with a core of crème de cassis, blackberry compote and preserved plums plus wafts of licorice, violets and sandalwood. Full-bodied, concentrated and sporting a firm frame of velvety tannins, it has a lively line lifting the densely packed fruit, finishing long and on a compelling savory note.
