Marks and reviews
Founded in 1968 by Al and Boots Brounstein, Diamond Creek is indeed a jewel of Napa Valley. Thanks to these two pioneers’ vision for modern winemaking in California, the estate became very quickly well known for its talent in boosting the expression of cabernet sauvignon. To see their great project through, the couple carried out rigorous studies of the two determining elements in the character of each wine : knowing the soil and the microclimate of these great terroirs. Today the property of Louis Roederer, the eminent Champagne House, Diamond Creek has not stopped seeking to create wines that express the unique character of their plots, which benefit from a rare and varied geology.
This Gravely Meadow Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 from Diamond Creek is a Californian wine that comes from a vineyard of about 2 hectares, planted in 1968 on a brown, pebbly soil.
The 2019 vintage in Napa Valley saw a mild and wet spring, followed by a warm summer which advanced regular ripening. The harvests were done in perfect conditions, and were followed by a meticulous selection to keep only the very best grapes, before a highly detailed vinification.

The nose brings out scents of red fruit, blackcurrant, lavender and rosemary.
The palate, complex from the attack, unveils scents of blueberry and stewed blackberry which develop into delicate touches of licorice and orange peel, embellished with cacao and mint notes. The dense and enduring finish charms with its subtle acidity.
