The young Alsatian agricultural engineer, Marcel Ott, moved to Provence in 1896 with the ambition for this vineyard to produce great wines despite being ravaged by phylloxera. Today, the OTT family is perpetuating this know-how to produce a range of rosé, red and white Provence wines from three estates: Château de Selle, Clos Mireille and Château Romassan. Created by René Ott in 1903, the iconic and immediately recognisable Domaines Ott bottle showcases the quality of great Provence wines. Domaine Ott joined the Louis Roederer house in 2004.
Winemaking and ageing
The 2020 white Côtes de Provence BY OTT by Domaines OTT is made from a rigorous selection of grapes, which are then received in Château de Selle’s new cellar before being sent to the winery, exclusively reserved for the production of this By Ott wine.
The wine is a bright and beautiful pale yellow colour.
The nose mixes fragrances of citrus, apricots and white flowers, as well as notes of brioche, with a certain freshness.
The ample and lively palate seduces with its balance and its aromas, which are reminiscent of lemon peel and fresh verbena. The finish is persistent and tangy.
