The Estate
Established in 1797 by Jean Latour in Aloxe-Corton, the Burgundy house Louis Latour traces its origins back to 1731 when this family of coopers acquired their first plots in the Côte de Beaune. A family-owned estate managed by the Latour family for over two centuries, it now operates the largest Grand Cru estate in the Côte d'Or in Burgundy, with its 50 hectares including exceptional parcels such as Corton Grèves and Corton-Charlemagne.
The Vineyard
The climat "En Chevret" lies below the departmental road, just beneath the "Caillerets" parcel, on the border with Meursault. This terroir of Volnay benefits from a unique exposure and clay-limestone soils that impart great elegance to the wine vintage after vintage. The vines, averaging 25 years old, produce a controlled yield of 35 hl/ha.
Winemaking and Aging
Hand harvesting is followed by traditional winemaking in open vats with complete malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels from the Louis Latour cooperage, with 35 % new wood at medium toast.
Grape Variety
100 % Pinot Noir.
