Mas Cal Demoura : Terre de Jonquières 2017

A blend of the five Languedoc varieties. Restrained red and dark fruit aromas. Finely etched tannins. A little tight but will open. Fresh and balanced on the finish.

To the delight of lovers of great Languedoc wines, the infidèle has not repented; for the past few vintages, it has simply become terre-de-jonquières. It is both sensual, as any infidèle should be, and serious like any repentant soul, which is not contradictory here. The tannin is perfectly wrapped, and the finish is exquisite.

In 2017, the reds are of a very high standard, exemplified by Terre de Jonquières, a cuvée that focuses on the purity of dark fruits, along with subtle notes of rose and a hint of spice. Complex and refined on the palate, with very fine-grained tannins and a peppery persistence.
