The estate
Founded in 2005, the Barons de Rothschild Champagne House has established strong relationships with partner producers to craft champagnes of a rare elegance from exceptional terroirs and rigorously selected grapes. "Accomplishing through great achievements", such has been the Rothschild family’s ambition for more than 250 years. Through the strength of its wine-growing experience, the family has joined forces with producers from Champagne to develop excellent champagnes which bring together know-how and tradition.
With the values of excellence, good taste and conviviality, the Barons de Rothschild Champagne House, which head office has been located in Reims since 2007, near illustrious estates in the Champagne wine region, unveils cuvées which unique style harmoniously combines finesse, balance and purity.
The vineyard
The champagnes of the Barons de Rothschild Champagne House are made of grapes derived from exceptional terroirs in Champagne, notably the Grands Crus and the Premiers Crus of the Reims Mountain.
The vintage
The fruit of a magnificent vintage, 2010, the Assemblage Brut Millésime 2010 by the Barons de Rothschild Champagne House invites you to discover the expression of this great year. The year 2010 is etched in memories due to its exceptional climatic conditions and a very beautiful harvest in Champagne.
Vinification
With a low dosage of 6 grams of sugar per litre, the Assemblage Brut Millésime 2010 by Barons de Rothschild enjoys a long ageing process of 7 years on lees before continuing its ageing process with a minimum resting period of 9 months following disgorging.
Blend
This vintage cuvée is made from a blend of Chardonnay (50%) from the Grand Crus in Côte des Blancs and Pinot Noir (50%) from the Reims Mountain.
Tasting
Colour
The wine is golden, highlighting the delicacy and finesse of the stream of bubbles.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet immediately seduces with its intense and complex aromatic expression which brings together freshness and finesse. White-fleshed fruits are followed by spicy, peppery fragrances. The wine unveils notes of candied fruits through its ripeness.
Palate
The mouth-coating palate seduces with its precision and subtlety through developing notes of lemon accompanied by subtler notes of pear and peach. Generous, balanced and full of elegance, this champagne continues to develop on the palate, stretching into an incredibly persistent and tight finish.
Food and wine pairings
Powerful and mineral, this wine from Champagne reveals seafood and demersal fish (fish from the bottom of the sea), elevated by notes of citrus, star anise or even a veal medallion accompanied by morel mushrooms.
Serving
For an optimal tasting, serve at between 10-12°C.
