The estate
In the shadows of its 3 kilometres of underground galleries of Gallo-Roman origin, the high-quality Joseph Perrier Champagne House perpetuates a know-how and a respect for tradition which has been transmitted from generation to generation. Each plot is vinified separately so that the identity of each of the Champagne terroirs can be expressed, with bespoke ageing processes.
The wine
The Esprit de Victoria Blanc de Blancs Vintage 2010 champagne is named after Queen Victoria who chose Joseph Perrier to be the official supplier to the Royal Court. For this fine champagne, Joseph Perrier has selected the best terroirs of Premiers and Grands Crus of Champagne, notably the Côte des Blancs but also Cumières and the Grande Vallée de la Marne.
Vinification and ageing
Faithful to the house’s signature style, Joseph Perrier's Esprit de Victoria Blanc de Blancs Vintage 2010 showcases the age-old know-how and the respect for traditions of this family-minded champagne house. Its dosage is 4.5 g/litre.
Blend
Chardonnay (100%).
Tasting
Colour
The colour is of a shining, pale yellow colour. The effervescence of the bubbles is very delicate.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet is harmonious and complex with floral fragrances that evoke the freshness of honeysuckle and the sweetness of acacia, highlighted by intense citrus notes.
Palate
A frank, round and complex attack precedes a palate that combines fruity and woody-vanilla notes with bitter and sour flavours. The finish is fresh and entices with its structure and its creamy and melting feel.
Food and wine pairing
Ideal as an aperitif, Esprit de Victoria Blanc de Blancs Vintage 2010 will complement shellfish, a fine fish fillet served with a beurre blanc sauce, goat's cheese or a sponge cake.
