2005 Corton Grancey Grand Cru, Burgundy
The 2005 Château Corton Grancey Grand Cru from Maison Louis Latour in Burgundy, displays a ruby-tinted deep red colour. Delicious cinnamon and liquorice fragrances are given off on the nose. This wine is round and ample on the palate, with red fruit and liquorice aromas. The whole is blended in silky tannins. Grancey was the name of the last owners of the Château (located on the route des Cortons) before the Latour family purchased it in 1891. This wine produced by Maison Louis Latour is unique. The former is the result of four climates of the Corton Grand Cru of Maison Latour: Les Bressandes, Les Perrière, Les Grèves and le Clos du Roi. The amount of each climate in the blend changes depending on the vintage. The vineyard is an average of 40 years old which guarantees a good expression of the terroir.
