Description

The balance and finesse of a Brut champagne revealed by Barons de Rothschild

The estate

Founded in 2005, the Barons de Rothschild Champagne House has established strong relationships with partner producers to craft champagnes of a rare elegance from exceptional terroirs and rigorously selected grapes. "Accomplishing through great achievements", such has been the Rothschild family’s ambition for more than 250 years. Through the strength of its wine-growing experience, the family has joined forces with producers from Champagne to develop excellent champagnes which bring together know-how and tradition.

With the values of excellence, good taste and conviviality, the Barons de Rothschild Champagne House, which head office has been located in Reims since 2007, near illustrous estates in the Champagne wine region, unveils cuvées which unique style harmoniously combines finesse, balance and purity.

The vineyard

The champagnes of the Barons de Rothschild Champagne House are made of grapes derived from exceptional terroirs in Champagne.

Blend

The blend of this Brut from the Barons de Rothschild Champagne House is comprised of Chardonnay (60%) and Pinot Noir (40%). The reserve wines, which supplement up to 40% of the blend, indicate a high quality and great ageing potential.

Tasting

Colour

The wine presents subtle, pale gold tints. Effervescence is fine and persistent.

Nose

The nose mixes light brioche notes with fragrances of pear, dried fruits (almonds, fresh hazelnuts) and white flowers.

Palate

A direct and lively attack precedes a full-bodied palate and a restrained power, imparted by a long ageing time in traditional cellars.

Food and wine pairings

Ideal as an aperitif, this Brut from the Barons de Rothschild Champagne House goes ideally with finely pan-fried scallops, crustaceans, rock fish but also risotto, chicken breast or white meat. This champagne also goes well with a farmer’s Brie de Meaux or a Chaource.
