After a long and particularly cold winter, spring was marked by a mild balminess combined with significant rainfall. June and July were hot, sunny and dry, encouraging healthy development at the vineyard. Although August came with coolness and rain, the sunshine up to mid-September, when harvests were, was ideal for refining the perfectly ripe state of the vineyard. 2008 was a generous year for Champagne, impressing with the quality of its harvest.
