Description
A great complex and elegant Champagne
The producer
Founded in 1760, the Delamotte Champagne House is one of the five oldest houses in the Champagne region. Located in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, in Mesnil-sur-Oger, the Delamotte House shares the same goal-oriented approach as the mythical neighbouring house, Salon. Under the direction of Didier Depond, the Houses benefit from the same sales team, a single vineyard division and a shared Cellar Master who all watch over the destiny of the two sister houses. Delamotte is thus one of the few wine merchants to work with passion and respect for the environment, in order to express the unique terroir of Champagne.
The vineyard
The elegant Delamotte style stems from the unique location of its vineyards. All the grapes come from the Grands Crus in the Côte des Blancs, Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize and Cramant. Resting on the side of the hill, the vines are planted on chalky soils, giving this champagne an exceptional character and a delicate expression.
The wine
This Blanc de Blancs 2007 by Delamotte is made from 4 grands crus of the Côte des Blancs (Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Oger and Cramant).
The vintage
A mild winter preceded a particularly warm month of April. August began with cold and rainy conditions but ended with bright sunshine which favoured the ripening of the grapes. The grapes harvested showcase a high quality and a good balance between alcohol and acidity.
Vinification and ageing
Delamotte's Blanc de Blancs 2007 is aged on lees for six years before being released.
The blend
Chardonnay (100%).

Clean and pure, the nose combines intense floral fragrances (white flowers, orange blossom, jasmine) with minty and fruity notes (Williams pear).
Palate
Complex and elegant, the palate is seduced by this champagne’s alliance between the expression of a powerful ripe and fresh wine and delicate honeyed and citrus notes.
Food and wine pairing
Delamotte Blanc de Blancs 2007 will complement slices of Iberian ham, slivers of old Parmesan cheese, crunchy radishes, a fricassee of chanterelles with a soft-boiled egg, warm langoustines with salted butter or a pear and apricot tart.
Cellaring
This exceptional champagne can be kept in the cellar beyond 2030 to develop its full range of aromas.
