A complex and generous Rosé champagne

The estate

An essential reference for great Champagne wines, the Charles Heidsieck House maintains a prestigious heritage with two thousand year old chalk pits. The pioneering Charles Heidsieck began to distinguish itself from the end of the 1980s through showcasing its multi-vintage Brut champagne’s exceptional capacity for aromatic evolution. In 1987, Charles Heidsieck was the first Champagne house to indicate its “cellaring” year so as to follow the evolution of the wine.

The vineyard

The Charles Heidsieck Champagne House owns a vineyard of around 60 hectares in Marne and Aube. This vineyard has received sustainable viticulture and High Environmental Value certifications. In addition to its own vineyard and following the Champagne model, Charles Heidsieck supplements its vineyard through long-term supply contracts with rigorously selected wine-growers and cooperatives.

The wine

The Rosé Réserve by Charles Heidsieck is made from a rigorous selection of 50 crus among the greatest Champagne terroirs.

Vinification and ageing

The plot-based winemaking is carried out by cru and by grape variety. Complexity, precision and generosity are the 3 key terms which define the identity of the Rosé Réserve champagne by Charles Heidsieck, patiently aged for 3 years in the house’s chalk pits.

The blend

The Rosé Réserve is the fruit of a blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and 20% reserve wines which are 5 years old on average. This exceptional champagne also contains 5 to 6% blended red wines, giving rise to a generous wine with a beautiful tannic structure.

Rosé Reserve by Charles Heidsieck: Characteristics and tasting tips

The tasting

The wine is a shimmering powdery pink with bright reflections, which enhances the fineness and evenness of the effervescence.

The first nose opens with an extravagance of elegant and fruity notes alongside fragrances of strawberry jam and summer fruits. The bouquet then gives way to warm notes of sweet spices and fragrances of cinnamon.

Full of depth, the palate evolves with indulgence and freshness upon notes of pastry and fruit, deploying a tasty, creamy texture.

This rosé champagne, which reflects the excellence and the style of the Charles Heidsieck House, can wait in the cellar until 2025 to express its entire aromatic palette.
