De Sousa unveils a box set bringing together two refined and complex expressions of great Champagne terroirs

The property

At the end of the First World War, Manuel De Sousa, a member of the Portuguese expeditionary corps, left his native land to settle in France in Avize. Taken by illness before he reached his thirties, this hard worker left behind a wife and children. Fortunately, his son Antoine married Zoémie Bonville, the daughter of a winegrower, a few years later, and from their union was born the De Sousa Champagne House. For three generations now, the continuous pursuit of excellence and respect for nature and the environment have nourished the soul of the estate. At the head of the family Champagne house since 1986, Erick De Sousa ensures the continuation of his predecessors' work while ensuring the proper transmission of values of passion and tradition from generation to generation.

The box set

This Cuvée des Caudalies box set reveals, around the same vintage (2012) and the same grape variety, the expression of two great Champagne terroirs, Avize and Le Mesnil Grand Cru, with two essential bottles from the House:

Avize 2012: The richness of the bouquet (dry fruit biscuits, blond tobacco, mushroom) gives way to a creamy palate, whose delicate salinity is combined with woody and bitter notes in the finish.

Le Mesnil 2012: a complex nose, combining mineral, floral and fruity notes, precedes a generous, lively and silky palate.
