The producer
Located at the tip of the Côte des Blancs in the Champagne region, the Duval-Leroy Champagne House has made a point of respecting its three core values since its creation in 1859: protect, perfect and transmit. Very active environmentally speaking, the Duval-Leroy house offers champagnes which best express their terroir and the distinctiveness of each vintage.

The wine
The fruit of the exceptional year 2002, the Cuvée Femme de Champagne Grand Cru 2002 from the Duval-Leroy Champagne House reveals all the nobility of the great terroirs that saw its birth. Presented in a bottle with harmonious curves, this champagne underlines the goldsmith's work carried out by Carol Duval-Leroy and Sandrine Logette-Jardin, the House's Cellar Master.
Product of the exceptional 2002 vintage, the Femme de Champagne Grand Cru from the Duval-Leroy house expresses in the glass its great Chardonnay and Pinot Noir terroirs of origin. This champagne is available in a bottle distinguished by its elegant curves, underlining the work of Carol Duval-Leroy and Sandrine Logette-Jardin, the estate’s Cellar Master.
The vintage
The excellent weather conditions of this 2002 vintage allowed the fruit to reach perfect stages of maturity. Harvested in mid-September, the grapes showed a great wealth of sugars and a nice acidity.
Vinification and ageing
20% of the wines were vinified in oak barrels to provide them with an elegant and silky structure. 50% of the blend was aged on the lees. This champagne contains zero dosage.
The blend
Duval-Leroy's Cuvée Femme de Champagne Grand Cru 2002 is made from 95% Chardonnay Grand Cru from the terroirs of Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Cramant. Completing the blend is 5% of Grand Cru Pinot Noir from Ambonnay.
