Founded at the beginning of the 1950s, the Geoffroy Champagne House has been producing high quality vintages for 4 generations. A vineyard managed with the utmost care as well as a very precise plot-based vinification results in champagnes that exude the purest expression of the terroir and showcase the champagne's vibrant fruit.
Located in the heart of the Marne Valley in Champagne, the house reigns over a 14-hectare vineyard that spreads over a mosaic of 35 plots.
Eager to respect the terroir and the authentic expression of each plot, the vineyard management favours the microbial activity in the soil and limits human intervention as much as possible.
The first cuvée produced by the house, this champagne Expression Premier Cru Brut is made from base wines (57% from 2016, 43% from 2015) as well as from the perpetual reserve started in 1970.
The grapes come from the terroirs of Cumières, Hautvilliers, Damery and Fleury la Rivière. Its dosage is 6 g/l.
Vinification and ageing
The grapes are harvested and sorted by hand and are pressed in the traditional way before being vinified by parcel in temperature-controlled enamel vats. The reserve wines are kept in oak tuns and concrete vats. No malolactic fermentation.
Expression Premier Cru Brut by the Geoffroy Champagne House comprises a blend of 35% Pinot Noir, 35% Pinot Meunier and 30% Chardonnay.
The expressive nose blends fragrances of stewed apple and vanilla.
An utterly fine attack gives way to a mouth filled with intense fruit aromas. The finish is persistent and seductive with its beautiful freshness.
Food and wine pairing
Ideal as an aperitif, this champagne will complement seafood served in a puff pastry or roasted veal sweetbreads.
