The estate

Located in Dizy in the Marne Valley, the house of Champagne Jacquesson, founded in 1798, was taken over by the Chiquet family in 1974. Jean-Hervé and Laurent Chiquet, two passionate brothers, work plot by plot and follow a singular philosophy of vinification and ageing. Their exceptional cuvées express the unique character and richness of these outstanding terroirs, 28 hectares of chalk.

Renowned for their finesse, airy purity and exceptional ageing potential, its numbered cuvées place Jacquesson among the elite of the great names in Champagne.

The wine

Jacquesson's Dizy Corne Bautray 2005 cuvée comes from a one-hectare vineyard planted in 1960 in the Corne Bautray lieu-dit, in the village of Dizy. Steep, high on the slope and facing south-west, this Champagne terroir lies on clay soil strewn with millstone pebbles over Campanian chalk. Bottled on 20 June 2006. Disgorged in February 2015.

The vintage

2005 was marked by a cold, dry winter followed by a milder spring. After a hot, humid summer, the end of the season brought ideal conditions ahead of the harvest.

This 2005 vintage Champagne is 100% Chardonnay.
